Mission Challenge
Yesterday, when I needed it most, I found a scriptural encouragement on old Mission Challenge letterhead while cleaning out a storage room on the farm where we live. Perhaps it will encourage you too.
Our LORD’s invitation and promise to His children.
Are you tired?
Worn out?
Burned out on… religion, expectations, disappointments, people pleasing, comparison, busyness…the list of possibilities is endless.
Come to Me.
Get away - with Me, and you’ll recover your life.
I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy
or
ill-fitting on you. Keep company with Me, and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.
And I’ll take your hand when you don’t know the way, when you can’t see where you are going. I’ll be a personal guide to you, directing you through unknown country.
I’ll be right there to show you what roads to take, make sure you don’t fall into a ditch. These are the things I’ll be doing for you, sticking with you, not leaving you for a minute.
So don’t panic.
I am with you. There’s no need to fear, for I am your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady by your right hand, keep a firm grip on you with My right hand.
That’s right. Because I, your God, have a firm grip on you, I’m not letting go. I’m telling you, don’t panic. I’m right here to help you.
Yes, LORD. So I will not fear, for You are with me. I will not anxiously look about me or be dismayed, for You are my God. You will strengthen me. You will help me. You will uphold me by Your righteous and victorious right hand.

It will be a challenge when we’re involved in something worthwhile, something worth our very lives, a worthy mission. And we’ll need encouragement to “keep calm and carry on.” He's got us. We can keep going.
