Do I have what it takes?

Is my team big enough?

Will my budget reach?

Are my musicians talented enough?

Do I get along with my church leaders?

Good questions. Hard questions too.

Let’s turn to Psalm 66:5-12 to see the answer as He sees it.

“Come and see what God has done,

his awesome deeds for mankind!

He turned the sea into dry land,

they passed through the waters on foot—

come, let us rejoice in him.

He rules forever by his power,

his eyes watch the nations—

let not the rebellious rise up against him.

Praise our God, all peoples,

let the sound of his praise be heard;

he has preserved our lives

and kept our feet from slipping.

For you, God, tested us;

you refined us like silver.

You brought us into prison

and laid burdens on our backs.

You let people ride over our heads;

we went through fire and water,

but you brought us to a place of abundance.”

It may be the oppression of the enemy or the LORD’s refining work that has you in a place where you may ask those hard questions. And God doesn’t flinch in allowing us to be tested. But never forget the final destination. You are headed for abundance. It’s only a matter of time. This is the Royal Way.

To have abundance is to have “copious quantity or supply.” Think fullness, plenty, and overflowing.

Like 2 Corinthians 9:8 declares, “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

Or the prayer in Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

As in Psalm 23:5, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

This is not a prosperity Gospel. It’s simply Spirit-led, scripture-fed joy!

And once you see the LORD bring about the abundance He wants, remember our response outlined in the rest of Psalm 66:

  • Keep my commitments to the LORD that I made in my trouble.

  • Bring my best to Him.

  • Testify of His goodness.

  • Refuse to cherish sin in my heart.

  • Praise Him and receive His love for you.

Let’s walk in His abundance!
